Harriet Sims Roberts reports to the Inspector General's office but is on permanent assignment to JAG Headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia.  As an Ensign, she served as Public Affairs Officer on the USS Seahawk.  She later transferred to the Inspector General's office but was permanently assigned to JAG Headquarters at the Admiral's request.  She was promoted to Lt., j.g. in February, 1999, two years after making Ensign and was promoted to Full Lt. in May, 2001.</div> <bR> <div> Harriet was raised in a very wealthy family.  Her parents, Roland and Lydia, live in Naples, Florida.  Her father owns several Jaguars and Harriet collects Hummel figurines.  Harriet was a tomboy growing up and her mother cried for six weeks after Harriet joined the Navy.  Harriet did attend college and once had a guy stalking her until she started dating a 200-lb. fullback.  </div> <bR> <div> When she was 18, she found herself unexpectedly pregnant but ended up having a miscarriage and told no one other than her parents.  Harriet met her future husband, Bud Roberts, Jr. while she was serving on the Seahawk.  <IMG SRC="062f3b90.jpg" border=0 width="243" height="185" ALIGN="LEFT" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">After she moved to Virginia, her and Bud started dating.  Bud was hesitant to ask Harriet out and had the help of Mac to put them together at a ball in honor of the Romanian Ambassador.  They broke up briefly in March, 1998 but when Bud's life was threatened on a Tiger cruise, they got back together.  Harriet was visiting her parents in Florida when Bud called and proposed to her.  They were married in May, 1998.  Mac was Harriet's maid of honor and the person Harriet would like to have as a sister if she had one.  During Mac's engagement to Brumby, Harriet was to be Mac's maid of honor but the wedding was called off.</div> <bR> <div> <IMG SRC="0f904070.jpg" border=0 width="260" height="263" ALIGN="RIGHT" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Harriet found out she was pregnant with their first child in September, 1998.  Harriet and Bud wanted to name the child after a war hero.  After discussing many names, they decided to name their first son after the Admiral.  Her and Admiral Chegwidden have always had a special relationship.  He helped her plan her wedding and, on more than one occasion, comforted her during her pregnancy or gave her marital advice.   A.J. Roberts was born in the Admiral's office in May, 1999.  We don't know what A.J. stands for, but we do know that it does not stand for Albert Jethro.  Bud and Harriet asked Harm and Mac to be baby A.J.'s godparents.  Harriet got pregnant again the <IMG SRC="069f3b90.jpg" border=0 width="243" height="185" ALIGN="LEFT" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">next year, but with tragic results.  In November, 2000 she gave birth to a baby girl, named Sarah.  But the baby's cord was wrapped around her neck and baby Sarah died within minutes after her birth.  </div> <bR> <div> After A.J. was born, Harriet went on reserve duty but returned to full duty at JAG Headquarters in January, 2001.  Bud and Harriet's 2002 Christmas "present" was news that they were expecting a new baby brother or sister for Little A.J.!  She enjoys the friendships she has at JAG and is a good friend to her colleagues.</div> <bR> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
